This page will serve as an information hub for the Coronavirus Relief Fund Task Force in Woodson County. 

 

The Task Force has been tasked with handling all aspects of the Coronavirus Relief Fund within Woodson County. Duties will include the creation of a budget, overseeing special projects, the small business application process, approval of distribution of funds and reconciliation to the State of Kansas and the Federal Government of all funds received by Woodson County as part of the Federal Gov't Cares Act.

 

The Task Force is made up of individuals representing the Government Entities in Woodson County, including the County, Cities and the School District. Any non-government members will not be allowed to apply for funds from the Task Force. Members are Woodson County Treasurer Michelle Zimmerman (Administrator), Woodson County Register of Deeds Jamie Nitsch (Reserve Administator), City of Yates Center Clerk Becky Boice, City of Toronto Clerk Jade Bucy, USD 366 Superintendent Dr. Steve Pegram, and USD 366 High School Principal Karl Hamm.

 

Interested Local Government, Non-Profit Organizations and Small Businesses should read the following letter pertaining to allowed and NOT allowed expenditures. The Woodson County Commission passed Resolution Number 20-09 that will serve as guidance for the money being disbursed. This resolution was passed on July 7, 2020 in order to comply with State of Kansas guidelines. The resolution can be read HERE.

 

The Task Force met for the first time on Monday July 6. The group went over expectations and application guidelines and set preliminary expectations for the group. The Task Force met on Monday July 27. Government spending was approved. Non Profits and Small Businesses were discussed. No decision was made at this time on setting a budget.

 

The next meeting of the Task Force will be Monday September 14th at 1pm at the Woodson County Ambulance Building.
